Also and this is another weird phenomenon, why, when people promise to read and review do they not do it? I guess one answer could be they didn’t like the book and rather than slating it and de facto me, they say nothing. But will that ultimately help me? Surely I need to be able to take the good with the bad. Anyway I am not wedded to that notion as all of my feedback has been to the contrary.
I know I have had my share of difficulty leaving reviews and comments. If after a couple of failures people just give up I would understand. I know quite a number of the reviews I have tried to leave on other sites have not posted. If eventually I have given up, maybe I am not alone. What do you think? Is it unduly restrictive? Do Amazon and other sites contrive to pee off the casual punter?
I have been absent from my blog for a while as the drabness of post festive January has limped along. It might be different south of the Equator where at least you have the compensation of good weather but here we have been invaded by a number of unwelcome visitors. Mr Snow has arrived along with Jack Frost and his cohorts Miss T Grey and companion Freezing Fog esquire. As you can imagine this has caused the poor unsuspecting citizens of middle earth a degree of mild hysteria. There have been reports of panic buying. With shortages of bread, milk and toilet rolls huh?
It does mean new friendships were forged as disparate bands of renegades formed themselves into engines of human power and pushed horseless carriages up the frozen ice flow. Unfortunately once the climb was completed they could only stand and stare as chaos unfolded. Cars believing their own hyper-drive pretended to be four wheel bobs. In several rather unedifying spectacles the metal beasts careered uncontrollably across the tundra before ending their crazy flight deposited in various states of disarray at the bottom of the nearest ditch.
My advice is to remain indoors. Allow the wheezing heating units to take the strain. Have a large drink at hand and curl up with a good book. Mine preferably :)
